Frequently Asked Questions |
What is Laser Therapy?
Low Level Laser Therapy, LLLT, is a non-invasive, painless way to stop the
smoking habit. A cold laser light is applied to several auricular and meridian
points on your body allowing the smoker to get relief from withdrawal symptoms. Therapeutic lasers have been used for over 30 years in Canada, France
and the UK and has become increasingly popular in the United States in the past
12 years.
Is Laser Therapy Safe?
The FDA has ruled low level laser devices as non-significant
risk. Although laser therapy for smoking addiction has not been approved by the
FDA, Advanced Laser Therapy is a full scale clinic participating in clinical
research trials through out the country.
What does the treatment involve?
Each patient is pre-screened before they can make an
appointment to see if
they qualify to be treated. Each patient has their initial consultation
and their first treatment which takes about 45 minutes. We do see the
patient the next day for a follow up treatment, which takes about 30
minutes. We also follow up via phone or e-mail in 30 & 90 days, plus keep
one complimentary treatment in their name for up to 6 months if needed.
Our mission is to keep you as a non-smoker!
.
Are there withdrawal symptoms?
Smoking produces a higher than normal level of endorphins. These endorphins are opiate like substances produced naturally in the body during stress times. Attempts to stop smoking reduce the endorphin levels causing withdrawal effects. Laser Therapy stimulates the points on the body which naturally increase the endorphin level, thereby reducing or eliminating withdrawal symptoms. Although we can take away the cravings, the desire and willpower to stop smoking must come from you.
Advanced Laser Therapy is currently participating in the research studies to gather information on the success rates for the United States. In Canada and Europe treatment has been very successful.
